Hammerhead Set Builders is one of the largest set building companies in South Africa.


It has been servicing Cape Town’s film & TV commercial industry since 2011 and was established by Michael Coscia, Steven Feldman, and Hugo Queiroga. Michael and Hugo have worked in the movie and commercial industry since 1999 and have a wealth of set construction knowledge and experience. Financial director Steve comes with an added dynamic having cut his teeth in Showtime Management, his family business that has been producing and promoting premier music and theatre events in South Africa and abroad for over 25 years.


Hammerhead Set Builders is renowned for exceptional client service, timeous project delivery, product excellence, and financial diligence, and has the resources in place for a swift 24/7- turnaround capability.

We design, build and install sets on various locations be it exotic film locations, high-tech studios, theatre houses, exhibition centers, and retail outlets.


Offering a full design and build service we have produced top-quality production designs and art direction for local and foreign companies.
Our experienced staff consists of highly experienced carpenters, metal workers, fabricators, scenic, and structural engineers. We work with a variety of materials including wood, metal, foam, aluminum, fiberglass, plastics, and textiles.


Our finishing includes scenic painting, spray painting, tiling, wallpapering, and laminating. Our services include transportation, prop storage and hire.


We pride ourselves on meeting deadlines and liaising with the client throughout the process until completion. Our workshop is fully equipped and geared up to handle any size job that is required.
